Clash Line is played inside a raised circular arena built to keep every duel close, visible, and under constant pressure.
Arena Size
The competition platform measures approximately:
The platform is large enough for movement, counters, and ring-out attempts, but compact enough to prevent athletes from avoiding engagement.
Starting Positions
Each athlete begins at an opposite outer starting line.
Both athletes must remain behind their markers until the referee gives the start signal.
Once the match begins, they may immediately:
There is no assigned attacker or defender.
The Control Ring
A marked 4-foot / 1.2-metre control zone surrounds the centre mechanism.
An athlete attempting Chain Control must keep both feet inside this ring while maintaining activation.
If either foot leaves the Control Ring, the control count immediately resets.
The Chain
The Chain stands at the exact centre of the platform.
It is connected to a fixed, protected activation mechanism designed to provide a clear visual and mechanical signal when control has been established.
To activate it, an athlete must:
The Chain remains fixed to the platform and is not carried, swung, or used as a weapon.
Its final engineering system will be confirmed through prototype construction and athlete testing.
The Boundary
The full outer boundary line remains in play.
An athlete loses by ring-out only when:
One foot outside is not enough.
Standing on the boundary line is still considered in play.
Falls and Resets
Clash Line is an upright competition.
If one or both athletes fall, the referee stops the action and returns them to their starting positions.
No ground competition is permitted.
Stalemates
If both athletes remain locked together without advancing position, attempting Chain Control, or creating meaningful displacement, the referee calls:
“ENGAGE.”
If inactivity continues, both athletes are separated and reset to their starting positions.
Platform Safety
The prototype arena will include:
Why the Platform Matters
The circular arena creates the central tension of Clash Line.
Every athlete must decide whether to:
There is nowhere to hide.
Every step matters.
