ATHLETE TRIALS

SPORTARIUM INC. is now recruiting athletes to help develop the first generation of Clash Line competition.

Prototype trials are designed to evaluate the sport, refine the rules, test equipment, and gather athlete feedback before the first official season.

Who We're Looking For

We welcome applications from athletes with backgrounds including:

  • Strongman
  • Rugby
  • Powerlifting
  • Grip Sport
  • Highland Games
  • Functional Strength Training
  • Other strength-based sports

Previous martial arts experience is not required.

We are looking for athletes with:

  • strong grip and core stability;
  • balance under pressure;
  • controlled physical aggression;
  • confidence with contact;
  • coachability;
  • respect for opponents and officials;
  • willingness to help shape a new sport.

What to Expect

Prototype trial sessions include:

  • Safety briefing
  • Rules introduction
  • Platform familiarization
  • Supervised practice
  • Live test duels
  • Athlete feedback session

Every trial helps improve the future of Clash Line.

Weight Divisions

Athletes compete in one of five divisions:

Division I — Up to 95 kg

Division II — 95.1–110 kg

Division III — 110.1–125 kg

Division IV — 125.1–140 kg

Openweight — 140 kg+

Official weigh-ins may be required before approved competition.

What to Wear

Athletes should arrive in fitted athletic clothing suitable for controlled contact and unrestricted movement.

Recommended equipment includes:

  • fitted athletic top;
  • approved shorts;
  • non-slip athletic footwear;
  • optional grip tape;
  • optional chalk where permitted.

Loose jewellery, sharp accessories, and unsafe clothing are not permitted.

Athlete Conduct

Clash Line is intense, but controlled.

Athletes must:

  • follow referee instructions immediately;
  • compete in good faith;
  • avoid prohibited contact;
  • stop when action is called;
  • show respect before and after every duel;
  • protect their opponent’s safety as well as their own.

Striking, kicking, submissions, choking, slams, ground fighting, intentional head contact, and equipment tampering are prohibited.

Filming and Media

Trial sessions may be photographed or filmed for:

  • rules development;
  • athlete review;
  • promotional material;
  • streaming;
  • documentary content;
  • future broadcast presentation.

Athletes appearing in filmed sessions must sign an approved media release.

Safety First

All trial sessions are supervised.

Selected athletes may be required to complete:

  • registration forms;
  • medical declaration;
  • liability waiver;
  • media release;
  • emergency contact form;
  • equipment inspection;
  • official weigh-in.

Athletes must disclose any injury or medical condition that may affect safe participation.

Safety remains the highest priority throughout every session.

Paid Prototype Testing

Selected athletes may receive compensation for approved prototype testing sessions, filmed demonstrations, or official development events.

Compensation, travel assistance, and scheduling will vary by event and will be confirmed before participation.

Participation in a trial does not guarantee future team placement or a long-term athlete contract.

What Happens After a Trial

Following a trial, athletes may be invited to:

  • return for additional testing;
  • join a development roster;
  • compete in filmed test matches;
  • represent one of the founding teams;
  • participate in future league competition.
