The name Pembrooke Hollow takes inspiration from the historic British noble title Earl of Pembroke, one of the oldest titles in the English peerage.
The first creation of the title was granted in the 12th century to Gilbert de Clare, a powerful Norman lord whose family held lands around Pembroke in Wales. Over the centuries the title passed through several famous families, including the Herberts.
One notable later holder was William Herbert, whose family became influential supporters of art, culture, and learning in England.
The name Pembroke eventually traveled across the Atlantic, inspiring the Canadian town of Pembroke, Ontario, which was founded in the 19th century and named after the historic Welsh town of Pembroke, Wales.
In the same spirit, Pembrooke Hollow imagines a peaceful countryside town where farms, markets, and village life come together.
