Archive No. 001: The Bligh Papers

The Dead String Theatre Archives are a premium theatre, stage, and puppetry document line created for theatre lovers, art collectors, and worldbuilding collectors.

Set in the pirate marionette world of Port Marel, the archives collect fictional playbills, stage passes, performer notices, marionette records, theatre inspection papers, production files, contracts, and official performance materials.

Each archive is designed to feel like a real theatre artifact — the kind of document that might be handed to a patron, posted outside the theatre, pinned backstage, carried by a performer, filed by an inspector, preserved in the theatre records, or recovered after a performance that did not go as planned.

A premium theatre-document packet from The Bound, built around William Bligh, The Dead String Theatre, the Dead String pirates, and a musical marionette production in Port Marel.

Developed by Rigger & Trigger Toys And Games Ltd as a fiction artifact, collectible document product, and foundation for future Dead String Theatre stage and marionette works.

• Bligh Commission Order — the formal directive assigning William Bligh to organize the production of The Naming of Port Marel, including marionette preparation, performer recruitment, stage materials, theatre arrangements, and coordination with the necessary authorities.

• Port Marel Performance Permission — the official authorization permitting The Naming of Port Marel to be staged at The Dead String Theatre, issued under Guy Carleton, Master of the Ports, Lord of the Grind & Keeper of the First Link, with market-district approval from Governor Edward Cornwallis, Warden of the Bound Settlement & Keeper of Dominion.

• Cultural Affairs Play Approval — the approval paper from the cultural authority reviewing the play’s subject, public language, imagery, songs, poster material, and permitted presentation within the political and cultural order of Port Marel and Rock Towne.

• Street Advertisement Poster — the worn public theatre bill announcing The Naming of Port Marel at The Dead String Theatre, designed as a posted advertisement for patrons, travellers, dock workers, performers, and citizens.

• Performer Recruitment Broadside — the casting and labour notice seeking actors, singers, puppeteers, musicians, marionette handlers, riggers, stagehands, theatre workers, and supporting performers for the coming production.

• Marionette Works Materials Register — the production record listing marionettes, strings, joints, heads, costumes, props, frames, repairs, replacement parts, stage fittings, and puppet materials prepared for rehearsal and performance.

• Stage Equipment & Theatre House Contract — the signed production contract covering stage equipment, theatre-house materials, curtains, rigging, platforms, lighting pieces, transport, repair work, delivery obligations, and supplier responsibilities.

• Theatre Week Security & Access Pass Register — the official access and security record for the week-long theatre event, covering approved passes for Free Captains, Dead Crown, Old Company, leprechauns, Rock Goblins, officials, workers, performers, guards, suppliers, and permitted support groups.

• The Naming of Port Marel Playbill — the final public theatre programme for the musical pirate marionette play performed by the Dead String pirates at The Dead String Theatre, including performance details, cast material, theatre notices, and presentation notes.
